Because Spirulina is a complete food containing notably:
Protein, beta-carotene and iron are the three biggest deficiencies in the world. That Spirulina concentrated them in such proportions would be
enough to make it known to all.
Since it has not undergone any transformation after drying, these constituents are in fact highly assimilable by the body.
The recommended daily dose varies depending on your individual needs:
- For a regular intake, about 2 to 3g per day is sufficient.
- As part of a one-time cure, you can go up to 5 to 10g per day but in most cases 3g per day is a good average.
Because in some people the detoxifying effect of Spirulina may result in mild gastrointestinal disturbances, nausea or headache during the first days of intake, we recommend that in all cases, gradually increase the dose at the rate of one extra gram per day at the beginning, until reaching the desired quantity. This method gives your body time to get used to the Spirulina.
For example a 3 week cure at 3g/day :
Day 1 = 1g
Day 2 = 2g
Day 3 = 3g
Day 4 = 3g until the end of your cure.

Spirulina can be enjoyed at any time of the day; however, the morning is more ideal in order to enjoy its benefits throughout the day.
As Spirulina has an exceptional nutritional composition, it is best not to submit it to any method of cooking, in order to preserve all its nutritional qualities, including vitamins (destroyed by heat) and unsaturated fatty acids like Omega-6.
Above all, we encourage consumption in your own creative fashion. If at any point you are lacking inspiration you might try it in a yogurt or applesauce, in a fruit juice, with raw vegetables or on a salad, with tapenade on toast, in a gazpacho ... It's all up to you !
Spirulina is a microalgae -more specifically a multicellular cyanobacteria. Each one measures about 100µm, they like to live in brackish water with a basic pH level.
Its scientific name is Arthrospira platensis.
Consumption of Spirulina is
recommended for everyone, especially if you are tired, deficient, anemic, it can get
you back on your feet quickly.
For athletes, it prevents muscle fatigue, reduces the risk of cramps and promotes good recovery.
It can also be used by pregnant women, vegetarians, vegans and even children, as long as the quantity is adapted for them.
After a long-term disease or a treatment against cancer, it boosts immunity because it contains constituents with immunostimulatory properties and antioxidants.
Be careful though, there are two contraindications:
intake is not compatible with anti-coagulant treatments (because of its vitamin K content).
- if you have Hemochromatosis (a genetic disease causing excess iron in blood) or Phenylketonuria (rare genetic disease).

At the moment, none of the Spirulina produced in France is organic. Any product sold with the organic label must meet a set of legally registered specifications. But since Spirulina is such a recent discovery, these specifications have not been created for the production of Spirulina.
Each batch produced and marketed is first analyzed by the laboratory AQMC. We will gladly inform you if you have more questions!
